Number three-ranked UFC strawweight Carla Esparza officially joined the promotion on the same day as Namajunas and was successful in winning the inaugural World Title from the latter. However, “Unstoppable” has shared the Circle with women who were a lot more seasoned and still came out on top. Zhang has 10 knockouts to her name and almost double the experience, making her a serious threat to Lee. She hit a roadblock in her last match against Namajunas, but she’s still a formidable athlete in the division. The woman from China stormed into the Octagon in 2018, and over the next two years, she scored four wins in a row and captured UFC gold. Top-ranked UFC strawweight contender Zhang Weili, as mentioned, is a former titleholder. And if she ever meets the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion in the Circle or Octagon, it would surely be a battle of grapplers – “Unstoppable” herself has seven submission wins. Like Lee, Namajunas is a slick ground specialist who has five submission wins to her name. Over the next seven years, however, she scored eight wins over top-ranked athletes in the organization, with her last victory being a first-round head kick knockout of former titleholder Zhang Weili. She began her career in 2014 on “The Ultimate Fighter” but lost to Carla Esparza for the inaugural UFC Women’s Strawweight World Title. Rose Namajunas is the current UFC Women’s Strawweight World Champion and has a 10-4 professional record.
